This happens in-game with the book menu as well. On the main menu, the D-pad does nothing but pushing down on the LEFT analog stick does move the menu cursor down but when released, the cursor goes back to the top as if the up button was being held down. With my controller plugged in, the game displays Playstation controller button icons (X, O, etc). The controller also works perfectly in Steam’s Big Picture Mode.
Honestly speaking, I doubt this is the controller’s fault - it works fine with my other Steam game (Dragon’s Dogma) as well as my PS4 Remote Play. Moving the RIGHT analog stick moves the mouse cursor around and moving the D-PAD shows moves the POV hat in the test window. Although moving left makes the window move to the previous tab (Settings). In the controller properties of Windows (Test tab under Advanced), when I move the LEFT analog stick around, it registers on the test window.

Also my video drivers are up to date as is my DirectX. I had no other peripherals added except for my keyboard and mouse. I can confirm that my Steam controller configuration is as instructed in the earlier post. Only thing is now all the buttons displayed by the game are A,B,X,Y and so on instead of showing the usual circle, square, triangle etc. However, the joystick problem is no longer present. This causes my controller to be detected as a “generic XInput controller” by steam instead of the PS4 one.
Previously I plugged it into the port at the top of my case. I’ve plugged in my PS4 controller to a different USB port, one behind the case.
